I think it is an all day event starting at 5am on CNN. The swearing in occurs at noon.

Nope. I am not watching. My boyfriend is watching it now, but I don't want to watch it.

Re: Inagauration
I caught just a bit. Seems like the women's march kind of usurped the whole thing.

I think the world needs to take a little Trump break. How can the US get anything done if everyone is protesting all the time.

Re: Inagauration
It does seem like everyone is just waiting for the next thing he does wrong that they can jump on. A couple years ago I stopped following news feeds for this reason, but now it seems I get the news from my friends on social media - slanted toward whatever their position is. I might just need to unplug totally for a while.

Re: Inagauration
How many people can actually unplug totally for a week? What constitutes "unplug"? The internet? Social media? News on TV? It would be an interesting experiment to see how people felt day 1 vs the last day if you actually did that. On the last day of the experiment would you be more happy and hopeful or would be busting to find out the latest chaos in the world?

Re: Inagauration
I did it for a week. No Internet, social media, TV. I found at the end of it, I didn't want to hear the news anymore. And I realized how much of what comes through social media is mindless filler. I am definitely going to start filtering out everything but the most important stuff. I ended with a feeling of needing to do more "real" things and getting away from the virtual world.
